I found these forgings digging through a barn on my property. If I had to guess I would say they are from the 40's or 50's when industry was still strong in CT. Cast into them was Bridgeport, CT. A cool piece of local tooling has found a new home as part of my newest project. Now all that is stopping me from finish welding is a delivery of Aluminum Bronze filler rod. I will post an update when they are all smoothed in.

What's New?

Yea, no pictures, I know....
I have been calling around, running around, emailing and designing like crazy lately. With the help of others I'm trying to get a website up and running, a logo/T-shirts designed and A PARTS LINE developed as soon as possible; and to my standards. Damn this shit is time consuming! Thanks to everyone lending a hand on the technical side. My main goal is to get this parts line up and running but that takes time and money :(. I am aiming to come out with a limited number of specifically designed parts that will BLOW YOUR MIND! So keep an eye out!

Last night I was in the shop and decided to open up the cam compartment on the '67. To my relief everything looks and feels great. I pulled the cam to check it out, turns out it's a nice Sifton 412 with big duration and short overlap! I take out the breather gear and the inside of the pocket is like glass, even better.  Thank God who ever was in the motor last knew what they were doing. All I have to do is replace the lifters and throw some new gaskets in.

Building Fins

Old timers say weld aluminum with Pure tungsten (green). I say hell no! Try to do this with a pure electrode. I have switched over to 1.5% and 2% Lanthanated for both AC and DC welding. They can carry up to 50% more current than pure tungsten and due to lack of radioactive material you anent going to get cancer like with 2% Thoriated (red)!

Fuse From Hell

Last week a specialty fuse blows on my lathe, I call around and write emails to people for five days and cant find anything. I get fed up and decide to see what I can find on Ebay. First item that pops up for my search is a lot of 10 of the exact fuses I need. WTF? Who would have thought?

New logo

I have been working on creating a new logo for the shop, something that makes sense for the name. My cousin is a graphic designer and she is giving me a hand with it. I gave her a hand drawing I did that I want to have computerized. Wish I knew how to use computers. This is what I have so far, working on the font next and trying to get it to look more computer generated.
